Chris Crawford signs with US Monastir

American shooting guard Chris Crawford has signed with Tunisian champions US Monastir and will play in the upcoming Basketball Africa League (BAL). Sportando reports that he has agreed with the team of his former coach Miodrag Perisic.

Monastir is one of the 12 teams that will play in the first ever BAL season starting March.


After playing for Memphis in college, Crawford has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies, however only in preseason games. After stops in the G League, France he played in Lebanon last season.

There, Crawford played for Beirut Club of coach Miodrag Perisic. Since December 23, Perisic is the head coach for US Monastir and the two will be reunited.

Washington & Rector

Monastir earlier signed big man Andre Washington and guard Shane Rector. They play with the team in the Tunisian league already. Monastir is only allowed to play two non-African players in the Basketball Africa League.
